evening all, I’m in the process of converting a Range Rover Classic from V8 to 300TDi (from a D1). The engine is in and running but I wondered if there is a pre-made bracket for the coolant header tank available? Can’t find anything online so assume I’m going to have to make it but maybe someone on here has done this

I used the original metal one off the V8 when I done a 200tdi.
Unsure what the difference is between 200/300 V8
Not had any probs with over heating

Mines got nothing, should’ve kept the bracket out the donor D1 but never thought of it at the time, the RR I think never even had a coolant bottle.

I thought the D1 had a plastic bottle which which has its own fixings
Time for a search & update

Yes it’s a black plastic bottle I think they are designed fit nicely into the engine bay at convenient points so it’s bolted in three places, but on the RRC there is nothing in the vicinity to attach to so I’ll need a bracket, either made or bought

Not looked in a classic range for years... so forgot what room there is.
Mount it close to the rad saves pipe.
Use a bit of angle for brackets.
Make sure you bleed the 300 well.
Change the plastic plugs for brass ones
Happy building

Put sender in Top hose or exchange the sender in the thermostat housing for a durite one.
Mine runs on 1/2 temp on Lr90 clocks.

Check threads first before fitting ;)
Put your finger over the hole.
If the motors is hot use someone else's finger ;)

Have you connected this to the temp gauge & checked to see if it reads correctly in some hot water?

Not yet its a brand new Durite gauge and sender. I don't currently have a gauge at all I've had to make a dash/instrument panel.

For people that have done this conversion, did you just use the original throttle cable? I bought ANR3606 thinking it would fit but it doesn't connect to the pedal the same!

I had a similar problem converting to a 200tdi, I think i changed to a disco pedal to avoid buying anything (had a scrap one at the time)

Doing the same job here, a bit behind you though :D . I remover the engine and box modified the Auto pedal box and removed the rear xmember so i can fit the disco fuel tank. I am sure the throttle cable is the same fitting on the engine side
just waiting for the sun to come out now so I can get on with it :)
