Just renewed my tax disc today , gone up £5 , to £285 for 12 months , its gone up £10 each of the last 4 years , I know it could be worse , but they aint spending it on the roads , someone's got to pay for the M Ps expenses :D

what do you need the roads fixing for?
you have a land rover 4X4
enjoy the off road feel, on the road:hysterically_laughi

I know what your sayin , the freelander has the best suspension of all the motors I have owned , however some of the potholes on main roads at 50 mph still make me wince  lol

My notification turned up yesterday.....230....do they just make it up or summink?
For £5 less you could have a Freelander. :D

It's based on several factors, depending on the year first registered (sold). They changed the rules but allowed older vehicles to be capped. So depending on year it's based on engine size, or emissions, or efficiency rating letter, or type of fool, or if it duel fool, or a mix of them.

The timing of mine is good as £225 in feb doesn't get this years change applied to it as it's just before the change is normally implemented.

I dont think the price changes, that will still go up no doubt, you just dont get a tax disc to display any more....its all done on computer.

After March 2001 they changed the amount of road tax you pay based on emmisions.....so depending what it puts out depends on what you have to pay. ......the emmisions your car puts out is on your v5 g/kg.

Its a joke, its not about the environment, its purely TAX.

If its based on emissions, how come commercial freelanders are paying less under light goods rate as opposed to private light goods freelanders

Years back my research was in carbon neutral projects, now I say.......... pump as much C02 into the atmosphere as you want

Sure, Tax me on my carcinogenic benzene emissions, or my heavy metal outputs, but don't tax me on my carbon, as C02 is the molecule of life.
