65% of the time the reversing sensors on the disco work extremely well.

occasionally, however, when driving along (and not reversing or doing anything with the rear close to stuff) they will start beeping, slowly increasing in speed until you get the solid beep as if you are close to something, and then will continue to illicit the solid tone until i turn it off. Sometimes on restart it will behave normally.

this is an intermittent fault and isnt exactly a pain but routinely working reversing sensors are useful for a vehicle of this size regardless, so i would love them working properly.

i have checked the wires, and there appears to be no water ingress or anything loose but this is pickling me. Is there a multimeter test that can be done to identify the faulty sensor or something that i have overlooked?

thanks in advance.

mike.

P.S. is there a common failure point on the HVAC system? mine leaked all of the refill all over the place and there appears to be UV dye around the low pressure line that runs around the back of the engine bay but dont want to start replacing things without some insight into where they normally go.
