Just a quick question for all of you guys that have been around the freelander longer than me....

Anyone tried to retrofit the TC ABS HDC system to an early hippo? I have done a few different searches and come up with nothing of any use.....

I am guessing that the only sensible way of doing this would be with a donor. I haven't looked at the hippo to see if any of the wiring loom needed is present... Neither have I sat looking at the RAVE disc as yet. Just thought I would see if any one had any info before I sit for several hours doing research. :D

And before you say sell the current fl and buy one with it already on.....

I have several years of experience working on the spanners. And in my own time done a complete reshell of a fiesta or two and rebuilt more minis than I care to remember. So I have the skills and the time and patience required.

I am already quite attached to my hippo as the colour is a rarity.

If it is possible.... I should imagine buying a donor car would be the easiest way of doing it - for parts and finding out whatever you need to swap..but then I know jack :)

Donor car easier but not important

Make a list of what you would need

4 abs sensors
4 abs rings
1st gear switch
Abs pump
Abs ecu if early system
A switch of your choice for the hdc
Wiring loom or home made loom
Extra brake pipes

Even without a donor wouldnt be the hardest job in the world
