I'm looking to replace the drivers door hinges on defender 110 300tdi station wagon. Does anybody know if the nuts are captivated on the door post (door no problem as I can see them!)? I would hate to take the bolts out & lose the nuts for ever.

:welcome2: if you haven't already bought the hinges then I would suggest you look at these, great price..... Welcome to RJ Landrovers I have some ready to fit and they come in white or bronze and genuine LR parts. Far better than the ones I bought from Paddocks for my old 90 and they shouldn't start rusting within the year like others. Spray them to match.

The main problem you will find is getting the door hinges off.... follow Busters guide...... http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f41/removing-door-hinges-bulkhead-113396.html

You will find Busters guides on the main forum page.... they are better than Haynes manual and have saved me lots of money :)

The 'search' window (top right) will often give you the answers....

Consider using stainless screw bolts... no need to paint?

MrJC - many thanks for the tips - have already bought & sprayed some already - shame as they were £15 each! That link is a great help & should stop me from losing any captive nuts!!
Cheers
