Replacing a propshaft grease nipple

So today I decided to grease my propshaft nipples on my Td5 like I've done on my 200tdi 110 many times before.

One of the nipples come off! Does anyone know what size nipples I can buy and is it fairly easy to fit new ones?

They are just screwed in. Did the end snap off. If so, you need to get the stub out. Not sure of size though.

a small file tang is good for removing broken grease nipples ,6mm will do

Probldm is that I'm going away in it next week. Is it going to be a bad thing if I drove 200 miles with no nipple??

I had a similar problem with a nipple that had sheared off. I used a Philips screwdriver to start removing it then a pair of long nose pliers. It came out really easily and fitted new nipple using a 7mm socket to start it off.

Success using a tang! Thanks James and everyone else who gave some input. I just hope my new one turns up now before I have to drive it on Thursday!

If the new ones don't turn up on time, screw a bolt n locknut in to keep the grease in.
