Afternoon everyone,

I have a Series 3 24V Lightweight in serious need of TLC. I don't have the skills, tools or facilities to do the work myself and I'm looking for a Land Rover or classic car specialist in or around Bristol (say within 50 to 100 miles) that can do the work.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers,

Richard

Hi Richard. Afraid I can’t help locate someone as I’m not local. However Land Rovers are easy to work on. So most capable mechanics should be able to help.

One thing to consider is what you are really wanting doing TLC and a full resto could be completely opposite ends of a budget and timeline spectrum. From maybe a few hundred quids worth of fettling to £10-15k if you new everything.

I'm occasionaly in Bath and Bristol in my series and would drop by - I'm not intersted in the work (desk job now, hence all teh posts...), but as said above, you really need a plan before you approach anyone or the bills get out of hand. My preference now is for "rolling restoration" where you keep the vehicle on the road then sort one elment at a time. Once they are off the road its a big and long job to get them back again and while when done they usually look great, they are no longer the fun work horse they were orignaly bought to be and can end up a trailer queen.
