I recently bought a 101 GS V8 and it is having some issues. Could really do with finding a garage or mechanic that is familiar with these vehicles as it's a bit of the comfort zone of my usual place!

Thanks, Tony

They can be serviced by a squaddy with a few days training, you should be able to manage. Bear in mind the Series are "field servicable". My own approach is to do my homework, there's loads of info, post on here, then eather do it my self or if its heavy (I'm 65) or takes 2 people I use a local mobile mechnic who likes working on old Land Rovers. Its not his speciality, in fact he was the only mobile mechnic in our area willing to work on old Land Rovers, the typical response was "I don't need to do that anymore" but he likes the simplicity and it is a change from modern vehicles. I just pay by the hour for as long as it takes.

Able engineering sell the official MOD repair manual and user manual as well...covers both 12 and 24v gives all specifications and wiring diags and are not expensive...

Brakes no matter the vehicle I work from furthest away from master to the closest with the land rovers/101s sometimes you got to raise the front or back as high as you can to push the air

Always furthest first...but 101 is a bit different as has 2 fluid reservoirs for a split system and an apportionating valve on the secondary plus a fail brake switch that both primary and secondary use...
