All, Need to fit a used BCM to 1999 D2, I understand it'll need to be sync'd to the vehicle, does anyone have a recommendation for someone in the Southampton/south Hants area who could do it? From what I've heard and read if I'm not careful I could end up paying for a garage to learn/guess how to do it!

It was more of a methaphorical expression, i know they can be unlocked with "invasive" methods but too few places where this procedure is carried out as the BCU to be 100% restored and the cost of the intervention combined with postage might be the same or higher as a for second hand one that's why i was so radical to warn the OP. to be carefull cos immobilising it means extra money anyway

There are no " Invasive" methods. They're done on a production line & no difference to a new BCU module.
Discovery 3 BCM's are a tad more difficult.

You're correct in that it's all extra money,
