Hi.

Posting in the general section rather than the Series bit, as I don't think there are many Series landies that have Rough Country Shocks fitted so I may not get many replies.

I have a 63 SWB Petrol Series landie which I use for overlanding and a bit of greenlaning. Problem is that we seem to kill shocks after a few thousand miles of bumpy stuff. Tried standard (but HD versions) shocks - they lasted about 8000 miles. Used Pro Comp on the Range Rover and they lasted about 3000 miles (boing boing boing, not fun!)

I know I can get Pro Comp for the Series but I am a bit put off by the experience on the Range Rover. I can however get a set of Rough Country shocks for the Series - which in the past I have heard are quite good.

My question is this (long winded start, sorry) - does anyone have any experience of Rough Country shocks, regardless of vehicle type - any good or any bad experiences? Are they generally consdered as a tough shock? Anywhere comprable to OME?

The other question is price...are the Rough Country shocks going to be that much better than stadard? I am sure you know the price of regular shocks...the Rough Country are £160 for a set of 4...are they really worth 3 times the price of the standard ones - in other words, will they last 3 times as long?

Also is the question of Nitro versus Hydro - which have a better chance of lasting? Or is there not much/anything in it? (price is not really a factor as there is only £10 between them)

Thanks for any help!
