Arse!
Mine rattle like hell, all the felt has gone, has anyone ever re-felted them? I take it they need to come apart?

Is it a fairly easy operation James or one of those jobs you wish you never started? I take it the felt isn't the kind you buy in craft shops?

screws can be hard to undo after first finding them by dragging a screw driver along the center of channel till you feel a steel screw head, its best getting new screws too , its not felt its thin steel channel covered in felt, some ive had as a ready to fit kit others, lengths of channel you cut to length and drilled the holes for the screws and made lock slot ,but its not too difficult at all

I found this, these are the door tops I have, but this guy is removing just felt and replacing it with rubber, I cant see any steel channel? MWC4757 is the only part number a quick search brings up and its just felt?

I did my sloped glass sliding windows myself, wasn’t actually hard just took a bit of time to get it all apart.

The bit the windows slides in has 3 small screws down into the frame iirc, then you undo the screws (or drill out the rivets) on the rest of the frame and the it all comes apart. Bit fiddly but okay

Did you just use the felt? MTC7622

Found this thread while researching the same job for my 90.
Garrison Outfitters sell a kit (available from Mud UK). It costs about £100 for both doors but is supposed to be better than the original stuff.
Done yours yet Nobber? If so, what did you use in the end?
Rich

Not yet mate, bought some genuine felt off ebay but haven't got around to fitting it yet, looking at the lumps of felt that I pulled out of the door tops I don't think there is any rubber bits in there.

was going to say Woolies at the Deepings would have the felt
I have just put the alloy rocky mountain tops on my S3, not cheap but brilliant in winter, same split sliding glass in rubber channel and stainless mount studding so no corrosion

Stainless mounts is an excellent uograde. - member here made some a while back, I have swapped mine over and they make getting the tops of much easier
