Reassembly - parts left over???

I've almost finished the engine rebuild and have a few items left over - I cannot think for the life me where they go! Any help will be much appreciated

The bottom one looks like a clip for mounting a relay.
Is the nut and star washer off starter motor cable connection.
Things like that I like to refit where they came from as dismantling.

Thanks - I had all the bolts and washer re-plated, hence why they haven't been paired up with what they came off.

FYI, the nut and serrated washer are about the same size as the nut on the front of the injection pump; about M12-M14.

This one is a far bit larger.

Could these be from the outside of an R380? I was playing around with it whilst stripping the engine.

no the r380 circlip is external

That's what I meant - external. I recall removing a few things off the engine end of the box before I sent it to Ashcrofts.

no its an internal circlip this is an external circlip

is the nut of the alt

Very similar in a size but I haven't touched the alternator - just removed it from the engine and set it to one side - I even had a look at it today to make sure.

Have you been playing with UJ's??

Yes, but this circlip is far larger - only the engine/box bits were plated in gold zinc too.

youve done well to get all the bits back i never do and get a few of someone elses

Good point - they could be someone else's, but I'm uneasy to believe it until all is running as it should be!

Sorry, no. Like JM I would have said gudgeon pin retaining circlip. I can't think of any other internal circlips that were involved.

Thanks - reassuring that you don't recognise the parts.

It transpires that the washer and nut are from the steering column! Not sure how they snuck into the pile of engine parts!

That just leaves the large circlip.
