For the third time my rear wiper seized up and blew its fuse. Ho hum, here we go. Took it apart and cleaned all the rusty crap out of the gearbox thingy (does it have a proper name?), polished up the electrical connectors and reassembled.
Unlike the previous time when I lightly smeared everything with grease, this time I packed, and I mean packed, the whole caboodle with a waterproof marine grease. I even managed to shove a surprising amount up the shaft in my attempt to prevent water ingress.
To my surprise the wiper is now working perfectly well, and quieter than I have ever known it.

Has anyone come up with a more effective way of stopping rainwater (and window washer fluid) from entering the unit, or do I resign myself to having to do this every couple of years?
