Don't know if anyone else has had this happen? if so how did they fix it ,my1995 disco 300tdi the rear electric windows don't allways work sometimeit takes 10 - 15 miles off pressing the buttons before they work:confused: other times they work straight away:rolleyes:

First check check the fuse (remove, examine, clean and refit) then the lead connections to the switches. test the switches with a test meter. They might want a squirt of electrical contact cleaner (Maplins)

Do the windows work fine if you use the switch on the rear door but play about if you use the switch in the center consul? if so, its a known fault. According to LandRover the switches are not a servicable item, but that is bollox. take the switch out and split the casing carefully. Clean the contacts with a bit of fine wet and dry and then just put it back together. Jobs a good 'un.

Sorry to be pedantic but don't ever use wet & dry on electrical contacts it contains conductive material. If you must clean contacts use a fine file or glass (sand) paper and make certain you flush it clean afterwards otherwise that abrasive will do more harm than good. That's why I suggested using a contact cleaner which cleans away burnt and oxidised surfaces whilst leaving a residue of lubrication.
