Afternoon,

The other half’s RRS 2013 has developed a fault,

She shut the tailgate from the key fob as normal, closed then just as it was about to close fully, bang.

Now it won’t open, I’m thinking it’s the powerstrut that’s gone bang.

Question is, has anyone ever changed one of these? Changing the strut itself is a no brainer, what I don’t know is, is it just a straight swap plug and play or do they need to be programmed as to were the open and closed see positions are?

Cheers,
Mark.

Im sure someone will be along to help you soon. In the meantime, would you settle my curiosity? Are you an amazingly lucky green oval owner, who has has had no issues in 11yrs:eek:? Or more likely, not had a green oval for 11years?

No such thing as the first option.

Another unnecessary complication gone wrong. No idea if it's plug and play, JLR and others seem to like to code everything to make you go to a stealer.

Not just JLR most makers are doing that to vehicles. Having to strip half the car down to change a bloody bulb, like on some vehicles these days is just ridiculous.

True, a local expat wanted me to change a duff headlight bulb on his Honda, I declined as it meant removing most of the front of the car.
