hiya

now got my rear springs and struts replaced by some kind mates who came round and done them for me

wow what a difference, seems like a new car.

i have though noticed a knock from the back when i brake heavier than normal

have read up about the 3 x rear diff mounts, is there a way of testing them without removing the rear prop or is that the best way to test them , on a visual inspection would they go off centre etc plse

as ive now got all new rear suspension could it put strain on any other parts on the rear axle plse due to them being stronger etc and not worn in with the other parts

so much guys and as always really do appreciate ur fantastic help with this

I am replacing mine after being told by mechanic, I would imagine a visual inspection with a torch would show if the rubbers are perished or split,
what price did the rear suspension cost you?
any recommendations to sales sites/links?

If the noise wasn't there before the suspension was done then it's likely something isn't tightened correctly or aligned correctly.

thks guys, will see if my son will have a good look under there for me, i know my mates torque all the bolts up and rechecked everything

maybe it takes a little time to settle but never the less will get the axle mounts looked at

i dont know why but also got a knock where my left foot rest in the foot well, only occasionally will see if i can get the entire car looked at underneath to check all the mounts etc, gearbox as and so on

been trying to read the topics to see if there were any particular favourite mounts that fail

thks again guys and always better to get second opinions and be guided in the right direction

its been a fantastic car and really like it and the difference with this new suspension is phenomenal, regarding ride comfort, handling etc

sorry buddy

i went to bearmach and it cost me £240 inc vat, this was for genuine springs and oem struts, new top and bottom bolts, nuts etc

it didnt cost me anything in labour apart from plenty cups of tea and sticky buns as a few friends kindly done it for me as my wife is very poorly in hospital with suspected bowl and overian cancer and im disabled

had fantastic emails etc from here and its been a great support for me

been a bit paranoid also at the moment with knocks etc as concerned of something failing or breaking and not allowing me to get to the hospital every day

sorry gassing again , lol

thoughts with you, hope this turns out ok

thks buddy am just going around in a dream world at the moment and trying to keep it together, but by christ everyone on here have been fantastic

just really worried of knocks etc as the last thing i need are problems with the hippo but in the same token cant ignore them

just frustrating when i cant get under there myself to check everything out

as i would repair any problem straight away as i dont like leaving anything tat may later fail or cause u due damage

just really annoying in not being able to have the physical ability anymore

thks again
