Hi! I’ve seen similar threads but I’m hoping for some brilliant advice that doesn’t involve removing anything, or anything too technical (I am a female after all!)
Two days ago, randomly, my rear tailgate door stopped opening. I can hear the clunk; the window retracts down and then immediately goes back up (like it does when I normally shut the door).
All the other locks/doors work ok. The window still opens.
I’ve tried pulling from outside, pushing from inside, the key, WD40, but I’m at a loss.
Ferdie is a 2004 Reg, and I’m a Student so I have no spare cash!
Please help....

If you want to fix it, you will need to take it apart occasionally ...

Your gender means nothing, not all wimmins are stupid, you'll need to spend money unless you learn to mend it yourself ...

Someone will be along shortly and tell you whats wrong with your door .... on your 2004 Land Rover whatever ....

hi and welcome

sounds like a freelander , see if this works , in re recalibrating ur rear window

1. Disarm the anti-theft alarm system.
2. Disconnect the vehicles battery
3. Wait 5 seconds
4. Reconnect the vehicles battery
5.The CCU will now drive the tail door window to the fully lowered position
6. Turn the ignition switch to the 'ignition' position'
7. press and hold the tail door window switch in the 'Up' position until the window has reached the fully
closed position.
g. The tail door window should now be calibrated , if calibration has failed,a warning buzzer will sound

You’re absolutely correct - us wimmins are not stupid. Which is why we sensibly look to expert forums so we can learn to cope on our own before throwing good money after bad at over-charging “experts” where all we would learn is that the coffee is sh*t

Hello Navyredwine. Hope you've got your door sorted. I suggest you remove your postcode from your Location - there are plenty of people out to steal Landrovers. :)

Thank you for the advice! Would be gutted to lose Ferdie.
Garage said wires in door mechanism had snapped & previously fixed with cable ties - so they only charged me for the labour
That's great - spect you'll find plenty of gaffa tape in there somewhere as well soon :D
