Front doors and also windscreen brackets all have gaskets on both sides. But the rear door doesn't show any on the parts diagram I have and the ones I took off didn't have any.

So are they not required? If not, why not?

I take it you are talking about the door hinges?
The spacers (gaskets) on the front doors allow adjustment of the door to enable a best fit.
The rear door hinges have a brass ball and spring arrangement, which allows the hinge to self adjust slightly.

I made some for my rear door from some rubber sheet, it might have been from an old inner tube I forget, long time ago.
