duh !! would really like to take her out for a drive without having to be accompanied with flag waving parking assistant  so would really like to sort parking sensors.
Have replaced the two which showed up on diagnostics but still no joy, need a little bit of electrical advice.
Each sensor has 3 wires, one black, one brown and one coloured, the coloured being different for each sensor. Would the black and brown be positive and negative with the colour being to send the info back to control unit ? If so could I put 12v across the back and brown connectors and listen for the clicking from sensor To test each one individually ? Then I could obviously work back along the wiring to the connector behind the n/s rear lamp cluster to check for any breaks. Also like domestic wiring would the brown be the live wire
Any help would be much appreciated

my connector is also behind the NSR light , what i did was disconnected that connector, pulled out the 4 x rear parking sensors and used a multimeter , put one end on one wire at the connector and other end on the same sensor wire , set on continuity and found a broken wire in the bumper loom

therefore just a case of doing a continuity test in each wire to prove where the break is in the wire

got to remove the bumper to replace the loom

am still looking for a wiring diagram for ur model , if i find one will post it up for u

by the way , have u just got rear parking sensors fitted

not 100% but i think u have to get the parking sensors reset after fitting new ones ???

Thanks gstuart it’s got front and rear sensors but only the rear showed faults, will check the wiring as you say, there’s only 8 screws to take off the rear bumper and only takes about 20mins. Do you think it would be worth pulling the fuse to try and reset them.
Thanks for your advice

i have heard front ones can knock out the rears , but if there all working personally would concentrate just on the backs , seeing u had a fault code come up

is a sod to get the bumper off mine , not sure if pulling the fuse would resolve the issue , alas as urs is a later model i can’t 100% say for sure, sorry about that

but did find using a meter was an easy way to check each wire via the connector and sensor

plse let us know how u get on

Looks like bumper off again and multi meter out, checked fuse box and handbook there isn’t a fuse for them either well nowts ever simple. Tomcat59alan alas on this flippin wagon when they go into fault mode they shut down the whole system so can’t do the clickety click test :mad: that would be just too easy:(. Should’ve stuck with the old disco and the flag waving parking attendant

Can’t go out to play today, coz it’s not raining boss woman wants house windows cleaning, if karcher hadn’t have invented window vac wouldn’t have had to sack window cleaner off, one gadget I wished I’d never purchased aarrrhhhh :( will update you as and when, tea break over back to windows
