I am looking for someone to re-spray my defender 90 puma? Had some quotes for more than I paid for it! So looking for a sensible quote. thanks

Haha yes...you might want to be a bit more specific in your post with maybe a pic...you will get nowhere with a vague question especially regarding painting a landy...

Sorry new here!!

well yes I have a 2012 Land Rover 90 puma, XS. Not actually wanting a quote just an idea! As just had a quote of 8.3k from a local body shop. I would like dark gun
Metal Grey paint all over

If you're talking a full colour change it isn't likely to be cheap if done properly - which means pretty much stripping everything off that could interfere with painting complete panels.
Quick, cheap, good. You can have any two, e.g quick & cheap but it won't be good.
Prices will vary considerably around the country.
How many local bodyshops have you tried?

I'd be inclined to ask the question in the General forum as you're likely to get more views.

Just done my Discovery and it’s taken at least 6 weeks of stripping out and prepping work followed by masking up and painting with another couple of weeks to put it all back together,
Then once the paint has hardened sufficiently, I still have to flat it back and compound it followed by polish and wax,
Definitely a much bigger job than I had foreseen but being retired and Covid a good way to pass the time,

If I was you I would get a quote with you doing all the prep work because that is where the most time is spent,
If they only have to mask up and spray the paint you will save a substantial amount on your previous quotes,

The prep is THE most important and difficult part to get right so certainly here the paint shops wont entertain you doing it yourself if they have to guarantee their work...a landy is not an easy vehicle to prep either...I'm preping this for paint for a promotional vehicle for our shop bloody nightmare all the ridges and corrugations...lol
