Re registering my Landy and road tax.

Hi, I'm re-registering my 1986 110 2.5D n/a back onto UK plates after being in Spain for years.
Is there any particular class I should register it in? I've read different classes pay different road tax, how much should I be paying?

Depends what the vehicle described as leaving the factory. CSW CW Van type ie Commercial seats etc.

Are you trying to recover the original registration or getting a new one? The tax classes used in 1986 are no longer being issued, the DVLA now put Land Rovers into "4x4 utility" as a default.

I've still got a copy of the original v5, but I don't really care about the reg number. Would it make a difference?

Always worth having the original reg number if it is still available, early car on original plates is always going to be a good selling point.

Have you tried entering the original registration number in the DVLA "Get vehicle information" page?
That might give useful info and could enable you to re-register with the original details.

Make sure you are on the DVLA web site though, as there are scammers trying to charge for a free service.

Yes it may do. It depends on what tax class it had. You could get one that is LEZ exempt that is no longer issued so take your time to check.
