Hi all

Has any put a straight through v8 exhaust on a 2.5 BMW P38. Im toying with the idea but not sure if the diameter of the petrol exhaust is the same from with I can work out the mountings are all the same.

Thanks in advance

WHY!
You want to hear a V8, not a diesel with a straight through - really would sound like a tractor. I'd stick to the stock system.

Really I just want to loose the centre box... I have it coming from the cat straight out but not ideal as it's exiting under the car sounds nice most people think it's a v8. If someone wouldn't mind having a measure of their p38 petrol I would be most grateful

The twin tail pipes ESR4124 and ESR4125 are the same for petrols and diesels. The centre boxes look to be the same other than the petrol having an heat shield incorporated. So it would appear that both systems are essentially the same from the front pipe rearwards.

Thank you for your help so if I brought one off flea bay it should be the same size from my cat backwards

The cat back Janspeed system on mine does apparently fit the diesel so yes to your question. Why remains a mystery.

I think BikeTeacherDave might have one?

I have the sports exhaust off StainlessSteelEhausts.com which I suspect is pretty similar. It is certainly wide enough. Not my choice but for my year with the single exhust there was only 1 choice.
