Hi there, I blanked off the egr valves on my Range Rover Sport 2.7tdv6, today (2006). I removed the pipes and the butterfly from the housing. I ran the car before fitting the blanks to the throttle housing, and to my surprise, there was a lot of pressure coming out the holes, where the egr pipes fit. Can anyone tell me if this pressure is normal. When I put my finger over the hole, the engine nearly cut out. A bit confused.
Many thanks Andy

Hi

Please don’t shoot the messenger , lol, are u aware of the new mot regs, removal of egr is an instant mot fail

When I done mine I left the pipes connected and put 2 x thin blanks between the pips and engine block, no issues with mot as mine recently passed and wasn’t mentioned

Also have u removed and cleaned out ur MAP sensor , it will more than likely be choked up

Hope that helps

Ps, also assume the front and rear belt , plus the oil pump cover have been done
