I have recently purchased an 18MY Range Rover Sport V6 HSE Dynamic and I noticed yesterday that there is no dynamic mode option in the terrain response mode. I called the dealer as all of my previous Sports have had this as standard (all diesel cars) and they didn't know why this didn't and apparently its not even an option!?!?!

Is this correct? And if so, does anybody know why this would be missing?

Maybe because it is terrain response 2? Maybe because it automatically selects the appropriate mode? Maybe your dealer should answer your question , on a nearly new vehicle properly?
Maybe you should use this free gift, when rocking up , unknown and asking strangers for help /support/ advice. We are not fussy, we accept ' Please ' , 'thank you' or a combination of both.

Apologies and thanks for your response.

Apparently Terrain Response 2 isn't an option on the petrol for some reason. On the drive mode selector it just shows comfort mode, ECO mode, snow mode, sand mode and mud ruts mode.

As you've apologised. I'll share what I've gleaned so far ;)
If you have the optional Extra Duty pack, you get the option for auto setting and also the option of Dynamic. No ED pack, no auto and no Dynamic.
I could be wrong but ........

Ok, thanks but I have an auto mode, just no Dynamic mode.

Then I have no idea. My answers are gleaned from the same sources you have , but I only have answers for up to 2017. Perhaps something changed for 2018.
Maybe phone a dealer, other than the one you bought it from, and see if they can make sense of it. It could just be the person you spoke to doesn't know the model well enough. I take it you have read the owner's manual from back to front , front to back and upside down?

BTW I am merely a speck of dust , compared to the more knowledgeable members on here. So you may yet get a grown up answer ;)

They have spoken to a manager at another dealer who knows the product inside out. Apparently it was a cost cutting thing on the V6 and the 2L Diesel. Doesn't really explain why it wasn't an option though! Either way mine was an ex demo so not like I had the option of ordering to my required spec anyway. Not an issue, just seemed odd that it wasn't there.

Your question was "Is this correct? And if so, does anybody know why this would be missing"
Now it would seem you already knew the answer, "Apparently it was a cost cutting thing on the V6 and the 2L Diesel"

In future, if you hang around, if all you want is a rant or whinge about something that has changed, please say so. That way people don't waste their time, trying to find an answer for you.

You have no idea how annoyed I am at wasting MY time trying to help you!

And people wonder why I can be grumpy.

Sorry I didn't know the answer when I posted. The dealer had just called me to tell me that they had spoken with a sales manager elsewhere who did know the answer and that was it

Supposedly. Reinforced by it's description , of having a ' powerfully dynamic presence ' :D A bit like the old 'get your face off that expression' advert. It means nothing.

I can't say i miss "the days" but when i've seen old adverts for cars all ya needed was a few snaps of the car and it's simple features.. :):D:D

Now it has to have all this tech crap and what you can make it do with your phone to get it to shift off the dealer ;)
