Range Rover P38 Alarm Fault

Hi Can anyone help me !!!
Range Rover 1996 dse, alarm fault, the key fob does not work !! Bought new key and i cannot syncronise the new key !! I can use the EKA and it start's all ok !!
Checked alarm power and earth to the reciever all ok, fitted new reciever, checked wiring down to the becm all ok ! But still not working.

You cannot programme another key to work if your original fob is knackered then only a dealer can supply a working fob.... its covered plenty try using the search feature

Did you buy your new key on Ebay? If so it will never work:doh:

I am very sorry to say that i did buy the key from ebay !! So i am off to the dealer
next week to buy a key from them !!
I just hope that it will work then ? as i do not have a working key yet !

If you ordered the key for your VIN it should work fine once it has been synchronised unless the RF receiver has been disconnected.

If anyone is going to buy a keyfob from Ebay, at least ask if the seller has the VIN from the donor vehicle. You will then need to get the lockset code from a main dealer for that VIN.
The Becm will need to be unlocked and reprogrammed to suit the new code and the blade can then be changed over.
If there is no VIN available, then say goodbye to your money, you may as well have thrown it away.

Thanks for your repley's !! The key that i bought off ebay is new, unused they said !! i did check his / her feed back and all was good lots of people had bought the Range Rover key 100% !! i now know that they must have lots of friends !! lol
