range rover locking wheel

HI all any one help me. I was driving my 06 range rover today over long distains. I started to hear a noise from the front diff. I got the car home left it for 3hr took it back out then front wheel lock up and could not drive the car.

Can any one help me plz thx

Plus there is a funny smell coming from the car.
