I have a mint condition bobtailed RRC chassis with a very expensive rollcage welded on sat doing nothing in my workshop.

I have tried selling it on eBay for ages and have not had any serious offers so I have decided to do something with it to make it more appealing.

My idea is to build a 100" Series LR, like in the TV show " a 4x4 is born ".

My question is what axles will bolt straight onto my chassis, I have none of the running gear or drive train just a bare stripped chassis with no mods other than being bobbed after the rear springs.

I presume Discovery 1 and of course the original RRCs ones.

It is a 1989, I am wondering if any early Defenders will drop on.

I am just looking to buy cheap used stuff online not new etc.

Any suggestions guys ?

Thanks, Karl.

If the cage is already built it's hard to put panels on. I normally just use flat Ali/steel
Got a picture of the cage?
Attached (sad) photo only uses 90 bonnet.
@Rocky Ward if you still have trctruckcab on the S1 can you take some photos of how it's held on to the screen. Thanks

Here are some photos of it when it was being built.

Cold drawn seemless steel welded by a rated welder at his business premises, cost me nearly £800 so reluctant to throw it away.

Its not a full cage and is inside the lines of the body.

Karl.

I would put flat metal to the rear roll cage. Get some tabs welded on so you can bolt this metal on.
Put doors back on any slowly box it all up. Plastic lorry wheel arches on the back,

I don't want an off roader thats what I started with 10 years ago.

Been there done that, got t-shirt as they say.

I appreciate your suggestions though.

All I want at this stage is info on axle donor.

pre 300tdi defenders have narrower front radius arms so youd need washers to space the arm out to fit the chassis bracket ,but and 300 tdi or d1 will fit straight on
