Hi Guys
I hope you are all well.
I am looking to borrow or rent a ramp/lift in the Hampshire/Wiltshire area. Does anybody know of one I can borrow to pop a Jag on?
I need to lower the front subframe on my XJ and get a little welding done on the chassis rails by the V mounts. I plan to do the work with my son but will get a professional welder in for the major repairs. The rest is general clean-up and overhaul while it's in the air.
If anybody knows of one I could borrow or rent then please could you let me know?
The car does not drive and needs work to get as far as an MOT, so I will need to arrange a transporter.
We are in the Salisbury area but will go where the facilities are.
Anytime in the next month or three would be ideal.
Many thanks in advance.
James

I welded mine up on just normal drive on ramps. Wasn’t ideal, but I got it done.

Hi thanks.
I am starting to think the same for a majority of it.
The main concern I have is giving a welder enough room to weld the front chassis rails with the subframe still in situ. I may be able to undo it and let it swing down (supporting the engine) and but then I think there is even less room to physically get in there. Also, while the subframe was down I was planning to remove the crankcase position sensor as it is jammed solid in the housing and I cannot even drill it out as the subframe is in the way. All in all, not sure what is the best other than a lift for the stuff that can't be done on the drive.
Cheers
