I had some work done by the local garage and the car came back with the radio locked. I had to remove the radio to find out the manufacturer and serial number, then I used a website that charged about £5 to tell me the code. My radio is a landrover badged one but it's made by someone else. I can't remember the name of the website but 5 minutes on Google will give you a result, it took about 5 minutes to get the radio out of the console.

Main dealer should give you the code for free.

Yes that's the other option. But my main dealer looks at me and my 2004 Freelander with disdain so I wouldn't use them if my life depended on it.

The code entering system varies from make to make but it isn't difficult to work out, again, Google is your friend.
