thanks for that, but mine has two small pipes to bottom of rad,top spigot is blanked in rad is this correct?

the top port is for the EGR cooler on late models.... somebody put the wrong rad and clogged that port cos the early rads don't have that port at all... no worries it's ok like that

Hello, been a while since I've posted here, but have used lots of info from past threads.
Today I installed a new radiator into my defenderTD5 2002. All hoses connected as from the old radiator. As I was filling with coolant noticed coolant pouring out from bottom left pipe. The radiator is exactly the same as the old and this little 5mm pipe at a slight angle was not connected to a hose. On the opposite side is a hose lower, which I understand comes from the fuel cooler.
Should this small pipe be blocked and with what?? I imagine on the old it is blocked off.
But if there is a hose going in on the opposite side coming from the fuel cooler should there be a return?
Confused thought I'd have this wrapped up today and driving around.
