Went to Liverpool yesterday to tow Tom's 90 back as he has a fuel problem.
Temp gauge went up over normal as usual when towing in traffic but as I was getting on the motorway the radiator burst. Scalding water everywhere and two of us stuck with broken Landys.
Tom suggested we swap radiators so that we did. Twenty minutes later we were mobile again after blagging some water in a bucket from an equestrian thingy over he fence.
Fingers crossed we set off and the temp gauge went up to normal quite quickly, here we go I thought....
The needle though stayed rock steady on normal towing at 55 for the twenty miles home.
My radiator must have been blocked somehow even though I had it off recently and flushed it out.
Overheating problem fixed now....ta Tom, you can have your rad back on Saturday:D

Hmmm, mine gets hot (not in red) under load when I put the aircon on, I was gonna flush the rad but I might bite the bullet and buy a new 'un. It sounds like it's pretty easy to whip it out, I was reading haynes and that manages to make it sound quite complicated and time consuming

Should be able to change the rad in half an hour our so if all comes undone as it should.:)
