Just ordred some Smith Allan MTF94 for the r380 box as most forums say its good stuff .
Also Ordered 10/40 for the 300TDI , But a bit in a dilemma as some say 15/40 .... regardless of season .

ordered Comma 10/40 semi for the 300tdi and Comma 80/90 for trans box and diffs . As comma is said to be good oil .

Any thoughts on Smith Allan oils , Comma oils and if 10/40 will be fine , Or shall I sod it and buy 15/40

Trouble is the more you read and surf the web after buying , there are so many different opinions even to use atf in the r380 ,

Both the companies you mention are oil blenders, in what way are they better ? ive yet to see the results of any research posted.

Both the engine oils 10w40 and 15w40 are the same SAE grade... 40 then modified for cold winter starting protection which expect u already know with multigrade oils.
I use Comma oils or the Comma oil rebranded 'Halfords' as my Halfords is just 4 miles away and I have a trade card, not thats any recomendation as use to use Castrol, Duckhams, Mobil Esso etc.
Keep away from webb sites, go with the grade Land Rover state in the owner hand books and workshop manuals and then choose your favourite brand .

Don't know in what way they are better , only people on Landrover forums have been happy with both of them .
I didn't know Comma rebranded Halfords as i also have a trade card , to late now But very handy to know for next time .

All ive ordered meet specs and always put an additive in the engine oil , And aren't comma a full subsidiary of exxonmobil. im lead to believe .
