Well I finally did it. Left my fob in my pants pocket when washing a load of clothes. Found it sitting by itself when taking the clothes out to dry. Went out side and tried it (yes, silly me, I should have dried it first) and it did not work. Opened the car with the key and the engine disabled which seemed like an odd result. Had to look up the procedure for inputting the EKA but it did work so car went back to operational. Thank you Marty for the EKA when you re-programmed my BeCM (bought the car with engine disabled). Took out the batteries and flushed it out with electronics grade isopropyl alcohol and left it to dry for a few days. Put in new batteries and the red light did what it was supposed to do. Re-synched and the fob works fine. Phew! Hopefully never again but if it happens will dry it out first before pushing any buttons.
