Series 3 propshaft problem

Hi all. I'm trying to fit new uj bearings into a series 3 front prop but it's not going well, I think I have the correct parts rtc3346 82mm but after much swearing and struggling am of the opinion they're too big. The bearings measure a tad under 82mm but the measurement between the snap-ring groves is a little over 80mm! Now if I were to fit 75mm bearings surely they would be too small, this leads me to think perhaps it's the wrong prop-shaft, it has a serial no gkn 31261379 as best as I can read it as it is quite worn.
Any ideas guys?

Buy new props.

The spiders come in 2 sizes. Measure carefully, then google the part numbers and it should make sense.

Check one of the needles has not come out inside of the bearing cups.
