Bought a series 2a some while ago now for spares, and it came with no plates or reg document, I have slice found the chassis number and decided to apply for a new reg document, In January I sent off the application and my £25.00 cheque and about 3weeks later noticed that my cheque had been cashed and and received a letter from Dvla saying my new reg document would be arriving soon even giving me the reg number ,but nothing else arrived and unfortunately I had binned the letter, so rang up the Dvla and they said basically that I would have to apply again, putting a cover letter in with the application, so I did that and yesterday I received a load of paperwork from Dvla saying that they could not issue me with a new document as I had not provided the reg number., so back to square one, anybody got any idea's on this it's driving me mad

Yes you mean the first letter they sent me with the reg number on it I can remember some off the digits as App---j as these are my initials but can't remember the rest

But you can ask them to either re-send copies or e-mail attachments so you have at least a reference number to quote at them.

I find crying over the phone with ample sobbing and nose blowing between strained words often gets a good response. Even if it doesn't it gives them a good laugh in the office.

This is quite interesting, I've just bought a box of bits for my 2a and there were a set of vin plates for a 109 2a that the guy had broken for spares years ago but never had the v5 for. I wonder if anyone has knicked the chassis number for another vehicle?
