do i need to fully remove all existing paint b4 priming?

they have come up really well as someone previous to me has had replacement corners fitted.

my plan of action hopefully..
is to finish sanding down/filling etc
etch prime any aluminium/or aluminium filler

then flash coat of primer
then rub down, then 1 coat of 2k high build primer
wet rub down
panel wipe and then ready for paint...hopefully

any thoughts as to if this is correct..

ye thats an ace plan mate when its finished it will have better looking paint than a bentley:D

on my old series i just rubbed down, primed, rubbed down, primed, then sprayed, i sort of rushed it as she was multi coloured and couldnt stand it :p looks very presentable :D (in the dark):p

no need to strip paint back as long as the paint there is good with no rust coming through.

for the best finish get it as good as you can now by eye. then 3 coats high build primer then flat back with a block. anywhere you wear through the primer will need re priming before top coat

do i need to rub primer down between coats or just after final coat?

personally i would spray the 3 coats and flat back the lot. 1 coat of high build will wear through pretty quick. remember to do the misting in black first so you know you have got all the dips

google it. somewhere there will be a step by step.
