Pre-reg RR 3.0 SDV6 or 69 reg RR SDV8

hi everyone.
pre-reg 3.0 SDV6 is 7 miles on clock, 69 reg SDV8 got 1600 miles on clock (privately owned).
same price.
what i don't know is what the diffrence for SDV6 and SDV8 ? MPG ? reability ? performence?
My wife has a 3.0 TDV6 disco 4, it's okay but not great. any improvement on the new 3.0 SDV6 ?

your wise idea needed, I have to make a decision tomorrow.

Seems to be a choice between snapping cranks or blown turbo's.
Reliability is not a word that can generally be used on Land Rover products.
