Power loss Disco 3

On a couple of occassions my Disco 3 2006 has shut down when it has been floored, it says Engine System Fault, i just stop switch off the engine and restart and everything is ok. Also engine tends to splutter from time to time.

Anyone with any ideas had it at the L rover dealers and they could find nothing

may give a hint, the car really needs a scanner plugged in to log any fault- should be able to log faults with an obd2 scanner, though deeper testing would require testbook

I would suggest as a starting point if it is fly by wire( no throttle cable) a dodgy throttle potentiometer will cause this (think scratchy rotary volume control) having a scanner plugged in will detect this
