I know - I need a massive compressor!

I keep coming back to looking at these and trying to find a solution. Many things I read say if you have a 'medium to large' compressor, you can get away with it for short durations. 3HP is what most say you need as a minimum. Some websites suggest between 9 and 18CFM for these pot blasters.

So looking at upgrading my compressor to a 100L 14.6CFM 3.0HP. Blaster is one of these 10gal Clarke things.

So in real terms, how long am I going to be able to blast for before I need to wait for the compressor to re-charges? Ideally I'd have a bigger tank, but the price jumps quite a bit, so looking at how feasible this size would be.

What do you mean by blast pot ? - do you mean a pressurised blaster like the Clarke CPSB200 - or do you mean a siphon fed thing like the Clarke CSB10 ??

Chinese copies of both are available for less money - they are just as good IME - I have a pressurised pot one....

Yeh, the CPSB200.

What size of compressor are you running? How does it get on? I guess having a bigger compressor will always be good, but is it acceptable?

I'm running a twin motor clarke XE29 - and it copes well with the 20 gallon pressure pot I use. At high blasting pressures it'll be running constantly for the 20 mins (ish) blasting you'll achieve with 20 gallons of blast media.

A single motor compressor will be limited - but it depends what you are blasting.... part of a chassis will be tolerable, but a full chassis, or a trailer would be tedious, possibly very very tedious - depending on how patient you are ;)
