Acquired my second Discovery a TD5 auto 2000, live in SE London - first post - rear head restraints locked in position. Any advice on how to remove/ repair/replace most welcome. No mention in my manual and many sold on EBAY but not sure if with mechanism

Yes, the two rear ones that are just above the rear door and fold upwards. Seems both stuck in upward position,

When held in open position they will not wiggle out at all?
Thanks - will not wiggle out but was able to use screwdriver to push back locking bar from seating (circular hole) in hinge so releasing from locked position. It was then possible to to access two bolts attaching hinge of each restraint but even when removed still could not extract restraints. Temporary fix has been to block with dowling the seatings (top and bottom hole) and now work but not possible to lock in upper or lower position but sufficient tension on locking bar to holds them in position. Will replace restraints once figures out how to remove them - any advice most welcome.
