I'm thinking of selling my 3.9 after installing it only 6 months ago...unless someone can talk some sense into me.

It runs great and is a blast to drive, but realistically I'm wishing to do some long range overlanding and think a diesel would be the better route. I'd love to have the Isuzu 4BD1T, but maybe a simple 300tdi would do. Here are a couple of vids that I took today. I'm not sure what I'll ask for them, but the engine only has approx 26k miles on it. It is a newer serpentine engine from a disco. May throw in all ancillaries/ecu...even a gearbox if the price is right?

OR, should I just keep it and buy an extended fuel tank:doh:

I know the intake isn't pretty, but it works a treat and is water-tight

You could always fit LPG, lots do it, and then you can fill up for £35 and get around 200-250 on a tank if your steady....and you get to listen to that lovely noise....burble burble!

It used to have LPG when it was a 3.5, but I pay US prices since I'm in the forces (about 70p a liter?) and it was cheaper than gas. oops, I think I just opened myself up for more ridicule :D

after all the work i did getting it wired up and running and you want to flog it?!
fit a disco t box and let me tweak it to getbetter mpg then all is good.

Happy New Year Stu! Well, I do have a disco autobox and transfer case ready to go in. I may just stay with the tiny V8 until I get back to the states. Then we'll see. Were you able to finish the wiring diagram for my setup?

YES AND YES WILL POST IT!
how about of one of my small 5.2 conversions 400 bhp 25-28 mpg predicted no gas needed with that sort of mpg

prices depend on the full spec but they aint cheap
big valves full ported heads gas flowed and blended port inlet manifolds fully balanced crank rods, pistons and pocketed for super high lift cam,fly wheel, top hat linnered block and a chipped map ecu for the bigger lungs starts at £9k installed but can go as far as £15k depending on the crank rods and pistons to stroke it and how much is done to the heads not cheap but will give good figures

I needed a laugh, rover turd polishing at it's best- lot better motors for lot less money- if you can get someone to part with 15k for rv8 need they need sanity check.

My money would be on a modern quad cam supercharged lump
