Hello all, after declaring my bromance for Bruce my D2 in the introductions section, only fair I subject you to a proper assault with some pics of him. Got lots to sort but want to keep him pretty "factory" really. That said, thinking of removing centre silencer to make give that V8 more "presence"

Seems basically like a good sweet machine, but being a complete pedant, collected up a list of to do's, in no particular order....
EKA code - SORTED
Ball joints - DONE
Rear air springs - DONE (thanks kevstar!)
Cruise control not working
A/C not working (clutch not engaging - can of worms alert!)
ACE has been deactivated (no fluid & poly vee belt changed for one that misses ACE pump - more fun to come!!)
Battery -ve lead - no idea where the clip in the middle of the cable bolts as it's flapping about
No battery retention (other than gravity & plastic cover
Missing the clip the battery cover front twisty thing latches into (just an open hole in metalwork)
Headlining sagging
NS wing mirror looks fine but not adjusting very well
Rear wash//wiper is AWOL
Vibration at from 35mph in driveline, gone by 65MPH (need to check handbrake drum & props for running true)
Gearknob like a mirror from 125k miles of gearchanges & leather gaiters FUBAR
Plastic pocket in rear door coming off & speaker cover FUBAR
Carpet in boot trashed (might try to clean but not holding out much hope!)
Leaky sunroofs
Missing ABS sensor o-rings
Missing a button off the binnacle (lower RH one)
Missing elec. seat controls on drivers side
plastic seat rears & plastic trims in boot floor need replacing
Losing a bit of water, but not into the oil
broken stub pipe in air intake (hose taped temporarily)
I almost forgot, enough oil leaks on the engine to give a waxoyl-while-you-drive & a Christmas card from OPEC

.....more suggestions welcome - I'll keep this updated as it's a good record now!!

All the best P

Finally pics sorted (for now)

Can't see the photo's unfortunately,

But being a disco i bet she looks sweet! :D

Nice list too

I believe Janspeed did a good exhaust system for the D2, could be mistaken, just be aware there is a chance of a drone if the centre silencer is removed from the stock exhaust. ;)

You could upload your pic's to IMGUR and copy The BB codes over here, that'll be much easier for ya!! ;)

Sorted, I checked "Picture posting for Dummies" fred, but didnt work for me (as I'm sooperdummy & not down wit da kidz) but just pasted the link in & bingo

That thing is MINT!!

Bet it goes well with a proper gearbox ;)

You can see why I couldn't bring myself to execute my dastardly plan! Engine & gearbox seem sweet as a nut, aside from all the leaks - I compression tested him when buying & all cylinders in the green thank Gawd

Deffo want to turn up the volume a bit (just a bit - no ASBO's) to hear more of the V8 though, but will get him shipshape before I go p155ing about. Good point on the exhaust matey, will keep pondering.

Have you dome anything to bring out your inner V8? Bet that sounds C:cool::cool:L!!

Yeah she is nice, don't break her up! ;)

Mine doesn't run at the moment, but it did sound fruity ;)

This is a Janspeed system on a P38, will sound the same on a disco i bet!!

And this is a centre silence delete

Henry_b, I now consider meself heducated on the matter! Good vids:)

The Janspeed system sounds nice, kind of a sleeper 'til the revs get up there, but I do like the raw sound of the ctr box delete - another dilemma, but a good one this time:D

Sorry to hear yours is out of action matey, hope it's back roaring & scaring the wildlife before long.

Decisions decisions!!

A centre delete is easy and cheap! and fruity ;)

Janspeed is expensive but sounds nice ;)

50/50 ;)

Probably do the cheapo route & upgrade when the good lady starts taking complaints from the neighbours ;)
They all might have a whipround if properly "motivated" he he

feed it with gas best of both worlds.
economy, then full petrol power at a flick of a switch.

Good shout gaza gas, that's goin on the list ;)
converted my 3.8 disco in 98.
use to buy the 48kg propane cylinders and hand pump it in to my two under body tanks.
hmrc caught on and raised the price of lpg on cylinders to pump price.
still a good investment if you clock up the miles.
old open loop system and no issues, had to drain the residue from the vaporizer once a month.
come service time the oil came out as clean as it went in. light brown and clear.
