Please Help, Stub Axle fitting

Hello,

Replaced cv joint today on my Discovery 1 1993 200tdi.

I have double checked and am 98% sure I have all the correct parts as the model number all match and i got them from paddocks, but when I came to fit the new Stub Axle it is a very very tight fit onto the new CV joint (as in will need help with a soft nosed hammer). This this correct?

Stub axle is FTC57 part number

CV Joint is RTC5843 part number

That doesn't sound right. All the ones I've taken to bits have been a fairly loose fit. Never done one with brandnew parts though.
