1997 p38 4.6 hse with lpg.
dash is displaying tailgate open
interior lights on and of course no air suspension as it thinks the boot is open, ive had a quick glance but nothing seems to be out of place, any advice will be gratefully recived.

Well, If it is the same as the doors. You'll have to disassemble the locking unit and lubricate it as the switch and the power lock are in the same unit. Again if it is like the doors.

just give both sections of the tailgate a damn good hard closing.

Release button is not stuck I suppose? Otherwise take the card off the lower tailgate and have a look for damaged wires loose switches etc.
