Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help, my Boss has asked me to track down 4 new tyres for his Defender, Goodyear stopped making them over 4 years ago & I have tried every tyre dealer in the land to try and buy a set, I have emailled Goodyear in America but they are not replying, by some miracle does anyone know where i can get the following:

LT265/75R16 119/116P Goodyear Wranglers Mtr OWL

It has to be an exact match or my boss does not want to know

any leads anyone can give would be greatly appreciated

if they stopped making um 4 years ago the chances are they'll be old dry stock which'll probably start to show cracks as soon as they see much use - put the kettle on Lynn

Thanks Guys, tried all the tyre shopper type places, even found a nice man in Birmimgham who had 2 - but no the boss wants 4.

P.A. Stands for a Pain in the A*se which is what this is turning out to be

Think you are right I will go and put the kettle on and lie down in a dark room for a while

Thanks for advice

if he cant understand he cant get tyres that have stoped being manufactured 4 years ago I think you should tell your boos to ram it...

There is no way P.A. stand for Pain in the Arse. I hope your boss appreciates how lucky he is to have a PA that joins a Land Rover forum to track down tyres for him.

I'd have told him to feck orf or something along those lines. :D

I think if these tyres have been discontinued 4 years ago he really ought to consider something else. If he wants extreme offroad tyres there are plenty to choose from and there will be folks on here who can recommend something that will fit the bill.

:welcome2:

Surely as his P.A., you should only be managing his business affairs. tell him to get off his ****ing arse and do it himself. Or are you a P.A. that does that little bit "extra" for your boss? ;)

Well have managed to persuade him to choose another brand, he likes the look of BFgoodrich Mud Terrain but I have told him that the All Terrain would be better as he lives on a farm, does some off roading but uses it daily on the road to visit his sites, he wants the Mud terrain but is worried about "Road Slap" !!!!!!!!!!!! can any of you great guys recommend any tyres that have the look of the Mud terrain but are good for the road AND are obtainable

I appreciate any advice I can pass onto him (with credit to you guys of course)

ffs sake we get people who can't search, now we get someone who gets a PA to ask-next he will need spoon feeding

Hi Lynn. Unless he drives at 1 mph he won't get 'road slap'. What he will get is a background humm. The wider the tyre tread blocks are apart, the louder the humm. If he does as you suggest with the A/T's he probably won't hear anything in the way of road noise. If he has M/T's he will have what I would describe as a low level humm. I have big fat tyres with tractor type tread (Insa turbo special tracks) and I kid you not it's like having a police helicopter flying overhead at all times.

If your boss gets on your nerves and refuses to give you a pay rise tell him they are fantastic and have no road noise and that he should get some as we all recommend them.

After he see's them fitted to a vehicle he might think they look bling and macho and great for tarmac driving.:p

Here's a piccy of them to show him.;):D:D:D
