I've made up and fit seven new brake pipes to my 2A SWB, plus flexi-hoses. The pipes going from the fluid reservoir to the brake and clutch master cylinders look a wider gauge than 3/16. What are they? They look ok but it seems a shame not to do them at the same time as I'm about to do a full bleed aswell.

Well in the absence of anybody sensible to tell you this is whats on mine- a single line non servo setup.
The pipe from the reservoir to the brake master is 1/4" with a small fitting to the master. The clutch main feed to the flexy is also 1/4" with the small fitting on the master going into an "adaptor", I don't know what these small fitting are because the bore has obviously got to be wider than 3/6" for the pipe to fit.
I don't recall seeing these 1/4" bore and small size fittings anywhere and hopefully this reply will get a response from someone who knows where to get em cos I have a similar issue on my latest project.

yes, both res to master cylinders are 1/4" on mine too and I'll leave them on as they look fine. Rodeo Joe, my master clutch to top of flexi is 3/16".. I can't see an adaptor anywhere.. (SWB '69 2A, single line, no servo)

I guess that means that it probably doesn't matter if its 1/4" or 3/16" then.

Yeah. Maybe the 1/4" pipes are needed to feed enough fluid from the reservoir to the master cylinders as the pistons works, based on their bore, but from the master cylinders down 3/16 is fine. I don't know I'm flying a kite here but it makes sense in my head. ;)
