Hello all,
So I've taken some time off work to get some essentials done on my defender 90. Yesterday I was changing my leaky old 6 bolt steering box for a nice recon 4 bolt box, all was going well until I started to reconnect the two pipes on the top of the box. The Pump to Box pipe is cross threaded at the pump end and a little worse for wear.
Here is where my fun begins,
The defender has a 200tdi from a disco in it. Upon checking the pipes P/N the metal clasp reads NTC5494, after quick google I realise this is a DISCO 1 pipe which raises some questions I hope you guys could help me with.
1. Is it a case of I can only refit a DISCO 1 pipe due to having a DISCO engine installed - if so do the threads of the union match the 4 bolt steering box for a defender?
2. Am I better installing a DEFENDER 200tdi pump to box pipe - if i do this will the pump side of the pipe have the correct fitting?
If you guys require any pictures or further investigation on my behalf to give me a more accurate answer please let me know.
Cheers,
John.
