yer it did hurt! mate in the passenger seat broke his femur, i was knocked out. Chassis is fine. missed the bulkhead outrigger so just ploughed straight into soft bodywork. gonna need a new tub outrigger tho. Its mainly cosmetic damage. engine looks fine etc etc as the tree didnt hit there. dont need sills, gonna fit rock sliders :D The tree lost a fair chunk as well!

The old girl will be back!! managed to tow her down the road! steering and everything is fine. The lights anorl in the left wing still work :p

yeah did this in mine about 5 years ago. hit a tree head on at about 50. it hit the passenger wing so the only thing that was straight was the rear tub which i re-used in the rebuild and the rear axle which i sold as it was a disc braked salisbury. everything else was bent. the chassis was diamond shaped by about 4 inches at the front.
front axle was like a banana and the panels on the front looked like theyd been run over by a train.
I would have got out but as it flipped and rolled several times the door opened and it landed in the road on the drivers side facing the opposite way with my foot shut in the door!
I just remember seeing my bonnet and all my tools scattered 100 yards down the road behind me!
Best bit was the radio was still on and my pack of fags were right by my right knee!
Broke my ankle and bust a rib which i knew about a few days later, my god that hurt.
Dont recommend it although rebuilding it was fun with a cast on yer leg!

Bloody hell I wouldn't have thought it'd do that much damage hitting a tree at 30  What would happen to it if you hit a car at 60 and the car was travelling towards you at 60? I don't feel safe in my 90 after seeing that!

Have you tried T-cutting it? Try first in an inconspicuous area so as not to ruin the evenness of the paintwork.

First time I've seen a defendeer where the rear crossmember is one of the best bits.
