Hello Chaps!
Apart from help with spelling "interchangeability" I was wondering if anyone could offer some help.

I'm currently about knee deep in building a Hybrid. It's gonna have the requsite 3.5 V8 and LT77 or R380 with Rover axles. I've already got the axles and engine and am now starting to collect other bits so one day I can put it all together and have something.

Question is this-- What things are interchangeable between Defenders, Disco's and Rangies? Most specifically brake components like master cylinders, calipers and discs. Also clutch components assuming all three vehicles had the same engine/trans combo.

Perhaps my question is a little vague and I'm sure there are tons of variables like year, options, trim levels, etc...

Please advise as best you can.
Thanks and happy holidays!!

Bill

with a big enough hammer and some grey matter you can put anything from anything into anything. i've seen a 350 chevy in a mini, not one of them bmw minis but a real mini. it all depends how competent y'awl are. somepeople can't even put bulbs into bulb holders.(who said wheresdildo747?)
and if you mean which are a straight swap why not just get the right one??

Because I'm getting most of the parts for this hybrid off ebay.

I've got Rangie axles with Rangie brakes so would it be a problem if I used a master cylinder form a Defender because thats will fit to the Defender pedal box I'll be using. Will a Rangie master cylinder fit? Or will I need to put Defender calipers on the axles? Will Defender calipers fit over Rangie discs or should I also get Defender discs? Will those fit?

I'll be using a Defender clutch pedal box. Will a Disco or Rangie clutch master cylinder fit to it? Are the Rangie, Disco, Defender clutch slave cylinders interchangeable?

Will the power steering pump from a 300Tdi engine fit in the power steering mount for a V8?

Suppose what I'm really looking for is advice from anyone who's done a hybrid from scratch.

Thanks
