right as some of you know i have recently purchased a 1958 "88 inch series 1 , originally baught to sell on but couldnt part with it after finding out some history and paperwork , this will be a restoration but not over the top , i want to avoid taking the whole thing apart and reparing whats needed , i also want to repair it back to how it was when it was a trial motor and white
still on its original chassis and bodywork i believe
wont go through the whole list unless asked but mods dating at least 20-30 years ago include , full rollcage, altered front suspension with pivots added , highly modifed series 3 engine and 2a box and axles, rear mounted tank, cut off switches...... anyway to the pics !
first ones in white are from its trialing logbook which i had with it(end goal) , the second is a restoration done by magazine at some point ( internet pic) from there on are mine as baught and progress pics

in the pic with the missing grille you can see damage to the back corner and front wing , the rear corner was much worse than it looks and was pushed forward and in about 6 inches , was also full of filler , with about an hour spent with flap disc digging filler out and hammer this is how it looks, still needs a little more tweeking but not far off , the front wing skin was welded to the rest and had lots of cracks/holes and filler so it had to be binned , the wing pic is a shortend series 3 wing but is only roughly stuck in place and not fitted properly or one piece yet , plan is to rivet it together with 2 rows of 3 rivets , when painted it will look tidy enough till i can find a decent series one skin , i originally baught the skin as the curves are the same and needed the curve to straighten the rest , when bolted it lines up properly all round

after a bit of a break on this one theres a minior update to be done , progress should be a lot quicker from here as iv sold a few items i have some cash to get welding gas and parts ect.... , so last things i have been doing is removing the cage , rear bolts were easy but the fronts were somewhat of a mission !
next job is either going to be chassis repairs or getting the engine running properly ! plus lots of cleaning and painting of items , also did myself a minior injury so now have a bandaged hand !
